3-point Obsession
What is the obsession with the three-point shot? Louisville, down by one heaved a 3-pointer at the last second. At the end of regulation in a tie game, Washington State chose to send one up from "downtown."
Players are too enamored with hitting the "big" shot from a "big" distance when they would have a better percentage shot from closer.

One of my favorite phrases for excessive 3-point shooting is "It's Jack it Up {insert day of the week}"
We came up with that at my daughter's elementary school games. Sometimes they panic and shoot from anywhere
There isn't much more entertaining than a elementary school basketball game. When I was in the fifth grade our team (Lincoln Elem.) beat Webster Elem. 42-0. Can you believe it? A shutout.
